Everyone tells builders to look into AI. Almost nobody says what that means on a Monday morning.
A construction AI assessment is the concrete version of looking into it: a short, fixed-price engagement that maps the tools you run, sets rules for your people, and hands you a build order. Here is what a good one covers, and what it should cost.
The three deliverables
A real assessment produces three things you keep: a tech stack review, an AI policy, and a roadmap. If it ends in a software demo instead of deliverables in your hands, it was a sales pitch, not an assessment.
The tech stack review
An inventory of what you run and how it connects, or does not. Where data gets entered more than once. Where information moves by one person's memory. Each gap ranked by what it costs in hours and risk. Most owners are not surprised by any single item on the list. The total is what surprises them.
The AI policy
Your people are already using AI. Someone in your office has pasted something into a free chatbot this month. The policy answers, in plain language: which tools are allowed, what information never leaves the firm, and who approves new uses. One page people follow beats ten pages nobody reads.
The roadmap
An ordered list of what to connect or automate first, why that order, and what each step should cost, in plain words a non-technical owner can hand to anyone. And it should be honest about fit. Ours ends with a straight answer: if we can solve your problems, we'll tell you. If not, we'll tell you that too.
What it costs
The Ridgebeam Assessment is $2,500 flat. All three deliverables are yours to keep whether or not you ever build anything with us. Take the roadmap and run it with your own people if that is the right call for the firm. How the full engagement works if you do want to build.
Common questions
Who should be in the room? The owner and whoever runs the office day to day. The office side knows where the retyping lives.
Do we need to prepare anything? A list of the tools you pay for is a good start. The rest comes out in conversation.
What size firm is this for? Design-build firms at or below about $25 million in revenue. Above that, the problems change shape, and we will say so plainly.
